General Release Form & PoliciesAilments in Skin or Ears: I understand that as experts in their field and Certified Salon Professionals by the IPG Association, the groomer will do whatever is in the best interest of my pet’s health and comfort. I understand that if the groomer notices any ailments on my pet and they are capable of improving them, the groomer will automatically provide these services at my expense. This includes (But are not limited to):
$5 -$10 - Flea Spray and Shampoo if fleas and ticks are noticed $5 - $10 - Skin Therapy shampoo to soothe your pet’s irritated skin caused by severe chewing or allergies $5 - $10 - Deep Conditioner & Anti Dandruff Shampoo if excessive amount of dandruff is noticed $5 - $10 - Upgraded ear flush with anti fungal / anti yeast agent if ear infection is noticed $10 and up - Geriatric charge for pets that cannot stand for the duration of the grooming process. I understand that by doing this, my groomer will not send my pet home with anything but the best care. I understand that the groomer will not ignore my pet’s ailments and while in their care my pet will receive the highest quality of care my groomer is trained to administer to ensure the overall health and comfort of my pet. Although my groomer may provide a service to make my pet more comfortable temporarily, I understand that the groomer is not a veterinarian and so a veterinarian may still be required to further treat and cure whatever ailments the groomer may find on my pet. Coat Condition: I understand that this establishment puts my pet’s comfort above all else. In the event that my pet’s coat is matted, I understand that the groomer may have to shave the matts out rather than perform a painful dematting procedure. I also understand that if my pet is severely matted, that there is an increased risk for clipper burn or cuts to occur. I understand that all attempts will be made to prevent this, however in many extreme matt conditions, it is unavoidable. I also understand that matted pets take additional time to groom so there will be an additional fee added onto the regular grooming price if my pet’s coat is matted. Dematting: I understand that small tangles may be brushed out at no charge (at the groomer’s discretion), however, if upon beginning work on my pet the groomer notices more matting than expected, I will be called to to discuss dematting fees. In the event that I cannot be reached, I understand that the groomer will leave a message on my voicemail then proceed with the dematting process to give me the haircut I asked for upon dropping off my pet. If the matting is too severe and the dematting process will cause too much discomfort to my pet, I understand that as a professional the groomer will take whatever steps are necessary to free the pet from his matting and that this may include a shorter haircut than discussed. I understand that as certified groomers, if it comes to this, the groomer is making this decision based on their years of experience, their professionalism, and their sincere concern for my pet’s comfort. Behavior: I understand that grooming can be stressful to some pets. I understand that in order to keep these pets as comfortable as possible the groomer will spend extra time and care with the "Nervous Nellies". I understand that due to the handling skills and time required to groom these pets the groomer will charge more for their time and compassionate handling expertise. I understand that the groomer strives above all else to keep my pet as calm as possible in an environment that is stressful to some. In the event that my pet becomes overly stressed, I understand that the groomer will call me for immediate pick up of my pet. Price Estimates: I understand that due to the nature of the job, the groomer cannot always predict everything that they might experience while grooming my pet, especially for our new customers. Therefore, I understand that all estimates will be asked to allow a $10 minimum leeway in price to account for things such as: Skin and Ear Ailments, Coat Condition, or Behavior. I understand that if I pay for my pet’s grooming during drop off any additional service costs will be due when I pick up my pet. Food and Water: I understand that the staff at Head to Tail Pet Grooming requests that I not feed my pet prior to their grooming appointment. I understand that in situations of higher than normal stress or stimulation, having a full stomach can increase my pet’s chance of experiencing stomach problems, bowl movements or nausea. I understand that in the event that my pet does “make a mess” it requires more time to clean up and will throw off the grooming schedule. I understand that offering my pet water is acceptable and that the staff will periodically offer my pet water throughout their visit. Out Time Estimates: I understand that the out-time given during drop off is an estimate only. I understand that the groomer will try not to keep my pet/pets more than three hours, however, when working with dogs unforeseen incidents can happen that can disrupt the schedule such as, vomit, urination, or defecation, which can require my pet, or another’s pet to need to be rewashed and the kennel to be sanitized. I also understand that as well as bathing, drying and grooming pets, the groomers duties throughout the day also include: Answering calls, setting appointments, checking pets in, checking pets out, sanitizing cages and vacuuming after each pet. I understand that my groomers work very hard to stay on schedule but sometimes it is not always possible. Health: I will inform the groomer if my pet has any heart conditions or any stress related issues prior to grooming. In the case that an unfortunate health issue should occur during my scheduled appointment, I agree to pay full price for my appointment upon picking up my pet, regardless of status of completion. I also understand that it is necessary to have my pet up to date on all vaccinations prior to every grooming. Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, I authorize this establishment to immediately seek professional veterinary attention for my pet (at my expense). I understand that all attempts will be made to contact me in the event of an emergency. Tips: I understand that, although not required, if I choose I may tip my groomer to show my appreciation for their hard work and skill my tip will be graciously accepted and very much appreciated. Groomer Requests: I understand that I may request a groomer and that the staff of Head to Tail Pet Grooming would prefer you find a groomer that you like and request them. I understand that if I do not request a groomer, my pet will be assessed and the best groomer for the job will be assigned. I also understand that in the event that my requested groomer is running behind, another groomer may be required to groom my pet in order to keep the out-times as close to three hours as possible. |
A $200.00 cash only fee, due immediately upon pick up will be charged for Any Injury/Bite to Any staff of Head to Tail Pet Grooming inflicted by your pet.
**HtTPG staff take all precautions to insure the health and safety of your pet and themselves at all times. If you feel that your pet may bite or otherwise injure anyone please advise the staff clearly so that all precautions will be taken and no provocation will be experienced by your pet. Also, understand, that if you are phoned to pick up your pet due to a bite, that you must do so IMMEDIATELY and pay FULL PRICE for that appointment slot in addition to the Bite Fee $200.00 cash only. Shaving Double Coated DogsShaving Dogs that Shed: I understand that shaving my dog because it sheds is not healthy for my dog’s skin and coat. I understand breeds that shed have complex growth and shed cycles and by shaving my pet’s coat it disrupts these cycles which can cause my dog’s coat to grow back a different texture, patchy, or not at all. I understand that this disruption can happen at any time, even if I have had my dog’s coat shaved many times before. In the event that my dog’s coat changes due to shaving, I will not hold the groomer responsible. I understand the groomer generally advises against shaving these breeds and that they recommend an ESPREE: 6 STEP DESHED TREATMENT as this is the appropriate, healthiest and most natural form of care for this type of coat.
Coloring and Hair DyeColoring and Hair Dye: I understand that all coats hold hair color differently and it is difficult to predict how well my dogs coat will hold dye. I understand that I am still required to pay for the full coloring service even if the color does not hold or if the shade is not to my expectation. I understand because the groomer is coloring a wiggling, moving animal that sometimes color may get in unintended parts of my dog’s coat. I understand that even though we use pet safe dyes, the groomer does not recommend dying dogs with underlying allergies or skin conditions.
